Updated Web Site

Ok, It aint fancy, but I did put up a new website for SplineDoctors... Right now it looks a bit broken in anything but Safari, but still works. Hopefully this is the beginning of something that will actually have some good content. Some of the pages have content so check it out and if you want to help me debug it, thats fine too. Dr. Gregory has a personal page with some of his Pixar work and I also have a few quicktimes up of some work... The more I learn about web site creation, the better the site will become.

Hey, I love your blog. The website seems to be coming along too. One thing that would help to fix the menus would be to put valign="top" in the first <table ... > thing. if there is still a space between them, you might want to try taking them out of the individual td's and just put a break <br> between each. I hope this makes sense! You might want to try going to http://htmlgoodies.com/ to learn some code so you don't have to completely really on Dreamwever - I know how confusing it can be!

Awesome! It's great to check out your guys work. Hope the other doctors will get their reels up as well!

One thing though: Dr. Gordon, I believe your Toy Story 2 reel isn't saved as a self-contained movie, so we can't watch it... at least I can't, and wouldn't know what else could be the problem.

It's awesome you're continuing sharing your knowledge as much!

Liked the story of each of you guys!!
Good intro.
Mybe for the titles and banners you would like to use swish, this little programm animates letters which can be exported as swf, the good thing is that you can play with them in flash, and with dreamweaver, flash applications are easy to handle.

This blog and the website are sweet! i finally listened to the whole Andrew Stanton podcast yesterday and i totally enjoyed it. Keep the podcasts comin'...please! They are full of animation gold, and great to listen to while you're animating.

Hey Andrew, i've been meaning to let you know how wicked your gestures lecture was for AM. We had it a few weeks back and it was pure gold! Thanks for doing it.
i'm hoping Stephen comes back to be a mentor before i graduate, and hopefully you and the other doctors come with him!

Quick question for a future podcast...what are the common mistakes you guys see new animators making when they first start animating/acting with dialogue?

Thanks,

Sean.

Thanks so much for the time you've all put into this. The spirit of sharing and passing along knowledge you have is what makes this industry so exciting to be a part of. The Podcasts are a great addition of that.

Dr. Gordon,

I just checked out the animation that you posted from all the movies that you worked on. I clicked on the Toy Story 2 and there was a test of a fat bug hopping in, looks around and scratches himself. Even though, I didn't see any Toy Story 2 animation, That test was awesome. Can you comment on that particular test? Thanks

Oh, the bug animation, was one of the tests I did while I was working at Warner Bros. That test helped me get a job on A Bugs Life. It was done with Softimage. Its an old character..... I am still trying to fix the ts2 reel, but I got sidetracked with work...

thanks for the comments...
