I remember reading Richard Williams' Animation Survival Kit in which he mentions that you animators almost always have a problem with moving everything too fast and too much, while older animators have the opposite problem.
This is, (I'm only in my second year of an animation degree in Ireland) I always make a conscious effort to let the action take its time. The one problem is that (as a hand drawn animator) it can be exponentially more work. I know this post refers to moving everything, regardless of speed, but I think they are both symptoms of the same problem. Inexperiance and a touch of laziness.
I love the blog by the way! I hope to someday meet you fine Pixar folk!

Whoops, that first paragraph should have read "Young animators" not "You animators."
